The Hawaii Fire Fighters Association, Local 1463 (HFFA) unanimously endorsed Roz Baker for re-election to the Hawaii State Senate, 6th District, South and West Maui.
“The Hawaii Fire Fighters Association, Local 1463, is very honored to endorse Roz Baker's reelection to the State Senate,” said Robert Lee, HFFA President. “Roz Baker is a great friend and supporter of Hawaii’s fire fighters. As one of the leading proponents of the Fire Fighter Cancer Presumptive Task Force established in 2016, she fought hard to ensure that in 2018, a bill was passed and on Governor Ige’s desk that improved fire fighters’ access to comprehensive medical benefits upon diagnosis from cancer presumed to arise from the profession. Senator Baker is tough as nails and is willing to make difficult decisions for the great good of our community!”
The Hawaii Fire Fighters Association (HFFA) is the exclusive bargaining representative for all professional fire fighters in the State of Hawaii. The HFFA represents approximately 2,000 fire fighters encompassing the jurisdictions of Kauai County, Maui County (Maui, Molokai and Lanai), Hawaii County (Big Island), the City & County of Honolulu (Oahu), and state airport fire rescue. As island fire fighters work daily to save life and preserve property, the HFFA works daily to ensure equal and fair treatment within the fire fighter workplace through grievance resolution, labor arbitration, and the negotiation and administration of the fire fighter's collective bargaining agreement.
