Aloha from Roz
I am honored to represent South and West Maui, Senate District 6, in the Hawaii State Senate and to work on issues that matter to our state, Maui and especially our district.
As Chair of the Senate Commerce, Consumer Protection, and Health Committee, I’ve developed, introduced and helped pass important legislation to improve access to quality healthcare, support 100% renewable energy goals, and diversify the economy. I’ve continued to work on issues that matter to our Maui citizens such as affordable rental housing; improving our highways including the Lahaina Bypass; funding to build the new high school in Kihei along with improved funding for public education; promoting sustainable economic development; caring for our environment and important community-wide issues such as gender equity, care for our kupuna and the prevention of domestic violence and sex assault. Most of all, I’ve listened carefully to many of your concerns and worked hard to translate them into positive actions, including new laws and project funding.
As a member of your Maui Senate team, we’ve helped bring home millions of dollars for ongoing community projects and programs. That means more jobs and much needed improvements throughout Maui County. But there is still much more to do.
I want to use my over 26 years of experience to foster a safer, healthier community and a stronger, diversified economy that will sustain us long into the future. Let’s continue to work together to move Maui and our state forward. Imua!
Me ke aloha pumehana, Roz
